The first version of photoshop went on sale in 1990 as a design tool, it primary purpose for use on scanned images, in the 1990 scanners where extremely expensive making photoshop a niche area in the market. Photoshop is undoubtably one of the most innovative design aids on the market today and 1990 hailed a great landmark in digital design history.
